Student Ministry

The Student Ministry at First Baptist Galveston exists to help middle and high school students discover who they are in Christ and how to live out their faith with confidence and purpose. These are some of the most formative years of life, and we are passionate about walking alongside students as they navigate challenges, ask questions, and grow in their relationship with God.

Our ministry is built on authentic relationships. Students are not just attendees—they are known, valued, and encouraged. Our leaders invest intentionally in building trust and creating a space where students feel safe to be themselves. Whether they are exploring faith for the first time or looking to go deeper, every student is welcomed without judgment.

Weekly gatherings are designed to be engaging, relevant, and meaningful. Through dynamic teaching, worship, and small group discussions, students encounter biblical truth in a way that connects to their everyday lives. We tackle real topics—identity, purpose, relationships, and faith—helping students understand how God’s Word speaks into the world they live in.

Small groups are at the heart of our ministry. These groups provide a space for honest conversations, prayer, and accountability. Students build friendships that go beyond church walls, forming a community that supports and encourages one another throughout the week.

We also believe that faith grows through action. That’s why we offer opportunities for students to serve both within the church and in the local community. Whether it’s participating in outreach events, volunteering, or going on mission trips, students learn what it means to live out their faith in tangible ways.

Events and retreats play a key role in creating memorable, life-changing experiences. Camps, conferences, and special gatherings allow students to step away from their routine and focus on their relationship with God. These moments often become turning points where faith becomes personal and deeply rooted.

Our goal is not just to guide students through their teenage years, but to prepare them for a lifetime of following Christ. We want them to graduate with a strong foundation of faith, a sense of purpose, and the confidence to live boldly for God wherever they go.
